Authorities confirmed the man was crossing the street when they were hit by a vehicle for reasons still under investigation.

Des Plaines, IL. – An 83-year-old man was killed after a pedestrian accident on Tuesday night in unincorporated Des Plaines in Cook County.
According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly collision happened a while before 8:00 p.m. on September 2 on Potter Road near Golf Road.
Authorities confirmed the man was crossing the street when they were hit by a vehicle for reasons still under investigation.
The man was rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in nearby Park Ridge where he was declared dead a while before 8:30 p.m.
Information concerning the involved driver was not provided.
Deputies did not suspect foul play to have played a role in the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
