8 Injured in Crash on U.S. 19 near State Road 52 in Pasco County

Troopers said a 42-year-old Hudson man was heading south on U.S. 19 in a Toyota Tacoma while it received a green traffic signal at the intersection of State Road 52 and it turned left onto State Road 52.

8 Injured in Pasco County Crash on U.S. 19 near State Road 52

Pasco County, FL. – A driver and a group of kids were injured following a traffic collision on Wednesday morning in Pasco County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 11:37 a.m. on U.S. 19 and State Road 52.

Troopers said a 42-year-old Hudson man was heading south on U.S. 19 in a Toyota Tacoma while it received a green traffic signal at the intersection of State Road 52 and it turned left onto State Road 52.

The Tacoma then entered the path of the Nissan Cube operated by a 33-year-old Hudson woman heading north on U.S. 19. The Cube did not stop for a red-light signal and the two vehicles crashed.

The Cube rolled over ejecting several passengers onto the roadway following the collision. The Tacoma halted in the northbound lanes.

The Cube passengers were six children ranging from age 5 to 9.

All the Cube occupants were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Tacoma driver sustained minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.

Authorities blocked parts of U.S. 19 until around 1:13 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing.
