Troopers said the man was driving his Toyota Tacoma out of the Econfina Creek Landing parking area when he pulled into the path of a Mack truck with a trailer traveling West on SR-20.
Bay County, FL. – A 79-year-old Chipley man was killed after a traffic accident on Wednesday morning in Bay County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened on October 1, on State Road 20, east of the Strickland Road intersection.
Troopers said the man was driving his Toyota Tacoma out of the Econfina Creek Landing parking area when he pulled into the path of a Mack truck with a trailer traveling West on SR-20.
The truck, driven by a 42-year-old man from Crawfordville, was unable to stop and struck the Tacoma on the driver’s side.
First responders treated the Tacoma driver at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, where he later died.
The truck driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
