Police confirmed that a driving Chrysler Town & Country minivan was heading west on Highway 20 when it drifted into an approaching lane and into the path of an eastbound Toyota Highlander. The two vehicles ultimately crashed head-on.

Lincoln County, OR. – A 77-year-old woman was killed after a head-on collision on Thursday afternoon in Lincoln County, according to Oregon State Police.
The accident occurred at around 1:15 p.m. on April 16, on Highway 20 near milepost 1.
Police confirmed that a driving Chrysler Town & Country minivan was heading west on Highway 20 when it drifted into an approaching lane and into the path of an eastbound Toyota Highlander. The two vehicles ultimately crashed head-on.
The minivan driver, a 77-year-old woman of Waldport, was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Toyota driver, an 82-year-old Newport man, and his 77-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries due to the crash. They were both hospitalized.
Police closed the highway for around three hours on Thursday to give way to an on-scene investigation.
The incident remains under investigation.
