Deputies said a taxi cab was stopped in the outside lane and was hit from behind by a semi-tractor trailer hauling cement.

Fort Lauderdale, FL. – Seven people including a child were injured after a traffic collision on Friday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened at around 3:15 p.m. on May 15 on Interstate 595 onto Interstate 95 offramp.
Deputies said a taxi cab was stopped in the outside lane and was hit from behind by a semi-tractor trailer hauling cement.
Four adults and one child were rushed to the hospital as trauma alerts. Two other adults suffered minor injuries. All the seven patients were taken to both Memorial and Broward General Hospital for treatment.
Two of the patients were listed in a critical condition but were expected to recover.
The taxi and the truck crashed into a concrete barrier of the ramp causing significant damage to the two vehicles.
The tractor cab caused 25-50 gallons of fuel leak and hazmat responders cleaned the spill.
The ramp was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
Further details regarding this crash were not provided.
