53-Year-Old Man Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Chicago

Police said the man was driving a gray vehicle northbound when he drove into the southbound lane and crashed into a black SUV head-on.

Chicago, IL. – A 53-year-old man was killed after a wrong-way head-on crash on Tuesday night in Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The collision happened around 8:33 p.m. on September 16, in the 4500 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive. 

Police said the man was driving a gray vehicle northbound when he drove into the southbound lane and crashed into a black SUV head-on.

The man suffered serious head trauma and rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The 68-year-old SUV driver was also transported to the hospital for medical evaluation. He was listed in good condition.

The two drivers were the sole occupants in their vehicles.

No one was cited following the collision.

An investigation is underway.
