The collision happened around 4:18 a.m. on July 11 in the westbound lanes of US 60 between Mill Avenue and Priest Drive.

Tempe, AZ – Five people were injured Friday morning in a multi-vehicle collision in Tempe, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The collision happened around 4:18 a.m. on July 11 in the westbound lanes of US 60 between Mill Avenue and Priest Drive.

DPS said a worker on board a Bob’s Barricade attenuator truck was collecting traffic barricades when the vehicle was rear-ended by a Dodge pickup truck.

The Dodge spun and was hit by a passing box truck.

Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment. The Dodge driver had serious injuries.

The collision closed westbound US 60 at Mill Avenue, but has since been reopened.

The DPS is investigating the accident.
