Shelby County, IL.- The Illinois State Police officials are investigating a train accident that killed four young men early Sunday morning near Shelby County.
The accident occurred at around 4:21 a.m. near Shelby County Road 400 North and Route 45, north of Effingham in Shelby County.
According to a police report, the train struck a vehicle for unknown reasons. The report revealed there were no train derailments.
The Shelby County Coroner’s Office identified 19-year-old Wesley E. Carver of Neoga as the driver. The passengers were identified as 21-year-old Josiah T. Koons of Negoa, 18-year-old Cruz M. Watts and 18-year-old Christian S. Beckler of Effingham.
No additional information was provided.
