Troopers said a vehicle was heading west on I-290 at I-355 southbound when it lost control, overturned and struck a bridge support column before bursting into flames.

Itasca, IL. – Three people were killed after a traffic collision late Wednesday night in Itasca, according to the Illinois State Police.
The crash occurred at around 11:40 p.m. December 3 on I-290 at I-395 southbound.
Troopers said a vehicle was heading west on I-290 at I-355 southbound when it lost control, overturned and struck a bridge support column before bursting into flames.
All the three people in the vehicle including one child were killed in the accident.
All lanes on I-290 westbound were closed for several hours to give way to an on-scene investigation. The lanes reopened at about 4:15 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
