Police said two passenger cars collided in unclear circumstances.

Warren County, IL. – Three people were killed and three others were hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident late Saturday night in Kirkwood.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on U.S. Route 34 north of East Walnut Street/160th Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. on June 6.
Police said two passenger cars collided in unclear circumstances.
Three people were declared dead at the crash site.
Three other individuals were flown to a regional hospital for treatment of injuries.
The U.S. Route 34 was closed to give way to an on-scene investigation.
The highway was reopened at 3:19 a.m. on Sunday.
