North Miami-Dade, FL. – 29 people were hurt after a multi-vehicle collision on Thursday night in North Miami-Dade, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The chain-reaction accident occurred a while before 11:30 p.m. on August 28, on Interstate 95 at Ives Dairy Road.
Troopers said that a tractor-trailer heading northbound on the interstate failed to slow down and brake for congested traffic, crashing into several vehicles and triggering a chain-reaction collision.
A total of 18 vehicles were involved, and 29 people were injured, according to investigators.

The other patients were treated and released at the scene.
Some patients were transported to Aventura Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The roadway was closed to clear fuel leak and traffic was diverted onto Ives Dairy Road until 6:00 a.m. on Friday.
Troopers said the semi-truck will face charges but they did not reveal the specific charges.
