Alachua County, FL. – A 23-year-old rider was killed after a traffic crash early Wednesday morning in Alachua County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. on March 11, on State Road 24, just east of SW 56th Terrace.

Troopers said the man was heading east on Highway 24, just east of SW 56th Terrace when he lost control and was thrown into the path of a westbound tanker truck.

The rider was declared dead at the crash site.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The truck driver was not injured in the collision.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
