Volusia County, FL. – A 22-year-old tree service employee was killed after a falling tree truck fell on him on Monday morning in Volusia County.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at about 9:40 a.m. on September 15, on George Ryan Road.
Deputies said the victim coworker was in a bucket truck with a chainsaw and he checked and observed the location below was clear. He then announced he was going to cut the tree.
The 22-year-old was further back near a different truck, and he returned to the area, and he was struck by the falling tree trunk.
The coworker called 911 and tried life-saving measures but the 22-year-old worker was declared dead at the crash site.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
