Seattle, WA. – Two women were killed following a bus accident on Tuesday morning in Seattle, Washington, according to a local news source.
The accident happened in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood at Hilltop House retirement community.
Per the report, a 70-year-old woman and a 80-year-old woman were lounging in the smoking area when a Hilltop House bus accidentally backed into them and ran them over.
The 70-year-old woman was declared dead at the crash site.
Responding emergency teams tried to aid the 80-year-old woman but she also succumbed to her injuries.
The involved bus driver remained at the crash site and is cooperating with officials.
Officials termed the accident as ‘tragic’ and said the bus malfunctioned causing the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
