2 Women Ages 19 and 20 Seriously Hurt in Car Accident on W 9 Mile in Escambia County

Police said a 19-year-old woman from Pensacola was heading east on W 9 Mile Road when a 20-year-old Niceville woman was heading west on W 9 Mile Road in a Nissan sedan.

Escambia County, FL. – A 19-year-old woman and 20-year-old woman were severely hurt following a traffic crash on Friday morning in Escambia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The major collision occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on W Nine Mile Road at I-10.

Police said a 19-year-old woman from Pensacola was heading east on W 9 Mile Road when a 20-year-old Niceville woman was heading west on W 9 Mile Road in a Nissan sedan.

The Pensacola attempted to pass another car, she lost control of her SUV, drove into westbound lanes and rolled over. She then crashed into the Nissan sedan.

Police said the crash involved extrication.

The two drivers were rushed to area hospitals with severe injuries.

It was raining heavily at the time of the accident.

No other information concerning this crash was provided.
