One of the truck’s three occupants was pronounced dead at the scene and another died at the hospital.
Anderson, IN. – The Madison County Coroner’s Office has identified two people who died after a police pursuit ended in a car crash early Tuesday morning in Anderson.
According to the Anderson Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 2:15 a.m. at 17th and Jackson streets.
A suspect fleeing the police was speeding southbound on Jackson Street when the driver lost control and hit a power pole before crashing into two houses.
One of the truck’s three occupants was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was transported to the hospital, where they later died.
The two were identified as 17-year-old Landon Shaffer and 20-year-old Preston Jett of Marion.
A third person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
