2 Injured in Mason County Car Accident on US 101

The accident took place around 10:00 p.m. on July 8 on U.S. 101 at milepost 355 near Oyster Bay.

Mason County, WA – Two people were injured Tuesday night in a car accident near the Mason-Thurston county line, according to the WSP.

The accident took place around 10:00 p.m. on July 8 on U.S. 101 at milepost 355 near Oyster Bay.

WSP said a 19-year-old Shelton woman was driving a 2022 Toyota Camry northbound when she failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and the car rolled over. The car came to a rest in the median.

Two of the three passengers in the car were injured in the accident. A 25-year-old Shelton woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, while a 28-year-old Shelton man was taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton. They were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

A 19-year-old Olympia man was uninjured in the accident.

The driver was accused of driving under the influence and vehicular assault.

The WSP is investigating the accident.
