Gadsden County, FL. – Two persons were hurt following a chain-reaction accident on Tuesday night in Gadsden County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 9:30 p.m. on August 19 on westbound I-10 at the 167-mile marker.

Troopers said a Florida Police patrol vehicle was struck during a chain reaction collision involving three other vehicles.  A black Dodge Ram, a white Subaru and a white Ford were all heading westbound at the mile marker 167 while the patrol vehicle was parked stationary on the emergency shoulder.

The Subaru changed lanes, merged and reduced speed due to the lane taper. The Dodge was following the Subaru closely and hit its rear. A Ford was following the two vehicles.

Two Subaru passengers, an 18-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Gadsden E.R. for medical evaluation and treatment by EMS.

No one else was hurt in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
