Authorities said a marked SQUAD car was heading north through an intersection when it was hit by a Toyota sedan that ignored a traffic light.

West Ridge, IL. – According to the Chicago Police Department, two Chicago police officers were severely hurt following a traffic collision early Sunday morning in West Ridge.
The accident happened a while before 3:45 a.m. November 23, in the 6200-block of North Western Avenue.
Authorities said a marked SQUAD car was heading north through an intersection when it was hit by a Toyota sedan that ignored a traffic light.
Two officers suffered severe injuries and were rushed to an area hospital.
The sedan driver, a 26-year-old man, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in a stable condition.
Citations are pending.
The incident remains under investigation.
