2 CFD Workers Injured in Ambulance Collision on W Jackson Boulevard on Near West Side

Chicago, IL. – The Chicago Police Department is investigating a traffic accident involving an ambulance early Sunday morning on the Near West Side, Chicago.

The collision occurred in the 2000 block of West Jackson Boulevard at about 3:20 a.m. on September 21.

Police said the ambulance was traveling with its emergency lights on when it crashed into a vehicle.

Two CFD members suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to an area hospital.

The 47-year-old driver of the vehicle and a 55-year-old passenger were not hurt.

Further details regarding the crash were not available.

An investigation is underway.
