14 Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Accident near Atlantic Avenue

Delray Beach, FL.- 14 people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Delray Beach, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at around 1:00 p.m. on Florida’s Turnpike near Atlantic Avenue.

Police said a minivan, two sport utility vehicles and a semi-tractor-trailer hauling automobiles crashed in unclear circumstances.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and confirmed 14 people were transported to an area hospital for treatment. One person was taken to a trauma center.

Fire Rescue officials declared the accident as a mass casualty incident. 

10 fire rescue trucks and 25 personnel responded to the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
