Bradenton, FL. – A 16-year-old boy was killled and a 17-year-old boy sustained critical injuries early Monday morning in Bradenton, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at about 3:20 a.m. January 19 on 53rd Avenue East and Caruso Road.

Troopers said a 17-year-old boy was riding a motorcycle east on 53rd Avenue when he ran the red light and crashed into a Chevy sedan heading west on 53rd Avenue.

The rider and his 16-year-old passenger were ejected from the bike.

The rider was rushed to a local hospital in a critical condition. His passenger was declared dead at the crash site.

The sedan driver, a 52-year-old Bradenton woman, was transported for treatment of minor injuries.

No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
