Lane County, OR. – One person was killed, and two others suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon.

According to the Oregon State Police, the crash occurred on Highway 58 near milepost 51 at around 2:14 p.m.

According to investigators, a westbound Audi Q5 left its lane of travel for unknown reasons, crossed into the eastbound lane, and collided with a dirt embankment.

The driver, a 37-year-old woman from Klamath Falls, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 37-year-old male passenger, also from Klamath Falls, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

An 8-year-old female passenger suffered critical injuries and was also hospitalized.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

Emergency responders from Oakridge Fire and EMS assisted the Oregon State Police at the scene

 Highway 58 was closed for approximately two hours while authorities conducted an on-scene investigation.

The accident remains under investigation.
