Klamath County, OR. – A teenager was killed in a collision on Saturday afternoon in Klamath Falls.

According to Oregon State Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 140 near milepost 1.

A disabled Honda CRV was partially blocking the eastbound lane and was struck by an eastbound Dodge Durango driven by Forrest Clinton George Fairchild, 40, of Klamath Falls.

A 17-year-old boy who was in front of the vehicle attempting to diagnose the failure was thrown over a bridge barrier and into the Klamath River.

The unidentified teenager was pronounced dead at the scene after being pulled from the water.

Fairchild suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
