Kent, WA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car early Thursday morning in Kent.

According to the police, the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Pacific Highway South and South 240th Street.

The 39-year-old man was walking across Pacific Highway South and was struck by a silver SUV.

The man was killed in the accident.

The driver fled the scene but was later located by Des Moines police officers near 20th Avenue South.

The driver, a 32-year-old Seattle man, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide.

More details about the accident were not released.
