Police said a passenger and an IDOT SUV crashed in unclear circumstances. The two pulled over to the left side where another car hit them.

Blue Island, IL.- One person was killed after a traffic collision involving an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) vehicle on Saturday morning near the Calumet River in Blue Island.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at about 4:45 a.m. on June 27, on northbound I-57 at 127th Street.
Police said a passenger and an IDOT SUV crashed in unclear circumstances. The two pulled over to the left side where another car hit them.
One individual, a 27-year-old Oak Lawn resident, was rushed to a local hospital where they were declared dead.
An IDOT worker was hurt and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Two northbound lanes were blocked to give way to an on-scene investigation. All lanes reopened at around 9:30 a.m.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
