1 Dies, 3 Injured After Vehicle Crash on Lake Cook Road and Quentin Road in Deer Park

Deer Park, IL. – A 95-year-old man from Palatine was killed and three persons injured after a traffic collision on Tuesday afternoon in Deer Park, Lake County.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on January 13, on westbound Lake Cook Road, just east of Quentin Road.

Authorities said the man was driving his 2006 Honda Accord when the car broke down. The man alighted from the vehicle and was looking underneath the car when he was struck by a 2024 Honda HR-V operated by a 30-year-old Cary man.

A school bus waiting to turn left onto southbound Quentin was sideswiped in the collision.The bus driver was not injured in the collision and no students were on the bus at the time.

The Palatine man was declared dead at the scene. His passenger, a 77-year-old Barrington woman, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The HR-V driver and his passenger, a 30-year-old woman from Arlington Heights, were rushed to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash is investigating the collision.
