Troopers said 20-year-old DeLand man was operating a 2001 Ford Mustang when he changed lanes and crashed into the side of a 2012 Dodge Charger. The two vehicles swerved across the travel lanes and the Dodge crashed into a guardrail.

Volusia County, FL. – A woman was killed and two others severely injured after a traffic collision on Tuesday night in Volusia County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on September 30, on the I-95 exit ramp to I-4 near Mile Marker 260.
Troopers said 20-year-old DeLand man was operating a 2001 Ford Mustang when he changed lanes and crashed into the side of a 2012 Dodge Charger. The two vehicles swerved across the travel lanes and the Dodge crashed into a guardrail.
Moments later, a 2024 International truck and semi-tractor trailer were also heading westbound on the exit ramp. The International truck hit the Mustang’s back before hitting a guardrail. The semi attempted to avoid the Dodge Charger but slammed into the Mustang.
The Mustang’s passenger, a 34-year-old woman from Deltona, was declared dead at the crash site.
The Mustang driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The Charger’s driver, a 48-year-old Daytona Beach woman, sustained severe injuries due to the collision.
The truck and the semi drivers were not injured.
An investigation is ongoing.
