1 Hospitalized After Truck Accident on South Pulaski Road in West Elsdon

West Elsdon, IL. – One person was injured after a pickup truck accident early Sunday morning in the West Elsdon neighborhood, Chicago.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the accident occurred at 3:30 a.m. on April 26 in the 5400 block of South Pulaski Road.

Police said a 25-year-old man was heading north on Pulaski Road in a black SUV when he ran a red light and struck a blue pickup truck heading west in the junction. The SUV then drove on and slammed into a building.

The SUV driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in fair condition.

Two women and a second man were in the SUV at the time. All declined medical assistance.

The man operating the pickup truck also declined medical treatment. His passenger, a woman, sustained injuries and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

The SUV driver was taken into police custody and charges were reportedly pending as of Sunday morning.

No additional details regarding this crash were released.
