Elkhart County, IN. – One person was injured in a car accident near Bristol in Elkhart County on Friday night.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened just before midnight at the intersection of County Road 23 and County Road 102.

A 42-year-old Bristol woman was driving a 1990 Ford Mustang westbound on County Road 102 when she lost control of the car. The vehicle veered off the highway and crashed into a tree.

A 22-year-old Elkhart man riding in the car was injured in the accident and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
