Crest Hill, IL. – One person was injured following a five-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Crest Hill, according to the Crest Hill Police Department.
The accident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on March 11 at northbound Larkin Avenue and Theodore Street.
Police said a white Dodge Charger failed to regard a traffic signal at the junction of northbound Larkin Avenue and Theodore Street. It also failed to obey another signal on Larkin Avenue at the entrance to the Hillcrest Shopping Center, 1701 N. Larkin Ave.

Before the officer could stop it, the Dodge went south onto Plainfield Road and disregarded the traffic signal at the junction of Plainfield Road and Theodore Street. The Dodge hit another car at the junction causing a multi-car accident involving five vehicles.
One of the cars rolled over during the crash.
One person was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The Dodge driver was charged for reckless driving, possession of Cannabis (10–30 grams), aggravated Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer Causing Injury, Possession of Cannabis (10–30 grams), Disobeying a Traffic Control Device and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was issued citations and given notice to appear, and released pending a future court date
