Pasco, WA – Two people were killed on Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident in Pasco, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The fatal accident happened around noon on August 12 at the intersection of Foster Wells Road and Highway 395.

WSP said Rafaela Alquicira Huipio, 50, was driving a Geo sedan westbound on Foster Wells Road and was trying to cross Highway 395. She cleared the northbound lanes but failed to yield to southbound traffic and was broadsided by a southbound Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by Bliss Honeycutt, 65, of Richland.

Huipio and the passenger, Yureli Ontiveros Alquicira, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Honeycutt, who was also wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with broken bones.

Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the accident.

The WSP is investigating the accident.
