Matthew is a native Arizonan with a track record of strong and effective advocacy for his clients. Matthew values each client he serves. When representing clients, Matthew’s goal is always to advance their interest and obtain favorable results. Prior to joining Lerner & Rowe, Matthew worked in civil litigation and dispute resolution where he consistently obtained successful outcomes for his clients—including a seven-figure settlement for a client injured in a car accident. Matthew is licensed to practice law in Arizona, the U.S. District Court in Arizona, and the Tohono O’odham Tribal Court.
In addition to practicing law, Matthew actively serves his community and was previously recognized by the Arizona Daily Star as Community Leader of the Year. Matthew currently serves on the Southern Arizona Legal Aid Board of Directors, Tucson Indian Center Advisory Council, and the State Bar of Arizona Indian Law Section’s Executive Council.
Education and Personal Interests
Matthew graduated from Arizona State University magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies and earned his Juris Doctor from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona. While in law school, Matthew was awarded the Robert A. Hershey Outstanding Tribal Advocate Award and the Andrew Silverman Community Service Award. In his free time, Matthew enjoys running, sports, traveling, and spending quality time with his wife and son. Matthew is also a proud member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and has a passion for giving back to the Native American community as a whole.
