Robert Garcia Struck, Killed by Car

Phoenix, Arizona (April 3, 2018)– According to a news release from Phoenix Police Department, a 45-year-old male pedestrian died after a vehicle struck him Friday night in Phoenix.

The deadly auto-pedestrian wreck occurred on Friday, March 30, near 36th Street and McDowell Road.

The police said that Robert Garcia was trying to cross McDowell Road to the south, just west of the intersection when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle.

Police said the accident occurred in the outside crosswalk. Garcia then received transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The 41-year-old driver of the vehicle reportedly remained at the accident scene and cooperated with investigators.

Neither impairment nor speed seemed to be contributing factors in the accident, police said. Also, the fatal crash remained under an investigation.
