The unidentified man was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries
Columbia County, FL. – A man died after being struck by a vehicle as he rode an electric bike in Fort White on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4 p.m. on Southwest Scrubtown Road near SW Barney Street.
The man was riding an e-bike northbound on Southwest Scrubtown Road and was negotiating a curve when he was struck by a southbound 2003 Mini Cooper approaching the same curve.
The unidentified man, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the car was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
