Yuma, AZ – A 41-year-old male bicyclist was seriously injured after colliding with a vehicle at an intersection in Yuma, according to Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened at about 6:43 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, in the area of W. County 16th Street and S. Avenue A ¼.
Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva was heading eastbound on W. County 16th Street when it collided with a bicycle, which was also traveling eastbound along the road shoulder.
The Yuma bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to Onvida Health by Rural Metro and was later airlifted out to a Phoenix hospital.
Investigators say speed or impairment are not a factor in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
