Lake County, TX – A 39-year-old male motorcyclist from Davenport is dead following a three-vehicle accident that occurred along US 27 in Lake County Saturday night, according to FHP.
The deadly crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. on March 29 on northbound US-27 near Sawgrass Bay Boulevard.
FHP said three vehicles, including a Grand Marquis and a motorcycle, were heading northbound in the center lane of US 27 approaching Sawgrass Bay Boulevard.
According to FHP, the driver Marquis failed to see the motorcycle ahead of him and rear-ended the motorcycle. The third car was unable to avoid the collision and rear-ended the Marquis.
The 39-year-old male rider was transported to Advent Health-Four Corners Emergency Room where he was pronounced deceased. The name of the victim was not immediately released.
No one else was hospitalized. The drivers and passengers of the two vehicles remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The accident remains under investigation and no additional details are available at this time.
