Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Police Department has identified the pedestrian who was killed at an intersection in Phoenix on Thursday last week as 43-year-old Freddie Lee Begay.

Freddie Begay was hit and killed by a vehicle at about 4:45 a.m. on March 13 at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Clarendon Avenue, just south of Indian School Road.

Begay was pronounced dead at the scene.

The involved driver remained at the scene after the collision.

Phoenix, AZ – A male pedestrian was killed in a crash early Thursday morning at an intersection in Phoenix.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened at 43rd Avenue and Clarendon Avenue, just south of Indian School Road at around 4:45 a.m. on March 13

The man was struck by a vehicle in the area for unknown reasons.

The victim suffered severe injuries and despite life-saving measures, he was declared dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.

The driver involved remained at the crash site and cooperated with the officers.

It was unknown if speed or impairment played a factor.

An investigation into this crash is still ongoing.
