Firefighter Injured in Pasco County Collision on Little Road

Pasco County, FL. – A firefighter was injured when a firetruck headed to the scene of an earlier fatal collision was involved in an accident with another vehicle in Pasco County on Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on February 5, at 9426 Little Road.

According to FHP, a 35-year-old firefighter was driving a Pasco County firetruck south on Little Road when he tried to turn left into a private drive and was hit by a vehicle driven on Little Road by a 53-year-old Spring Hill man.

The Spring Hill man was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the firetruck, which had its lights and sirens on while heading to the scene of a deadly collision.

The firefighter was treated for minor injuries at the scene while the other driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
