Police said Vitale was driving at the location when, for unknown reasons, she veered off the roadway and hit a traffic sign, a street light pole, an electrical utility pole and a tree.
South Elgin, Il. – 46-year-old Erin Vitale of South Elgin was killed following a collision early Saturday morning in South Elgin, according to the South Elgin Police Department.
The deadly collision occurred near Randall Road and Stearns Road at about 1:59 a.m. June 21.
Police said Vitale was driving at the location when, for unknown reasons, she veered off the roadway and hit a traffic sign, a street light pole, an electrical utility pole and a tree.
Vitale was rushed to the hospital where she died.
No additional details regarding this crash were released.
An investigation is ongoing.
