Gilbert, AZ – The authorities are investigating an incident in which a driver crashed into a Gilbert senior living home killing an 88-year-old woman Friday night.
The deadly crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on January 10 near Lindsay Road and Guadalupe Road.
Police say a vehicle, operated by Joshua Michael Degolier, 33, slammed into the wall of American Orchards Senior Community.
According to the police, the elderly woman was found dead inside the building following the collision.
Degolier reportedly fled the scene after the collision but was arrested and charged with three counts, including second-degree murder.
Investigators believe Degolier was intoxicated at the time of the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
