David Allen Rawson Shot and Killed by Police After Impersonation Allegations in Yukon

Yukon, Oklahoma — October 1, 2025: Authorities identified David Allen Rawson, age 62, as the man shot and killed by officers with the Yukon Police Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol near 10801 West Highway 66.

According to reports, an off-duty officer had been following Rawson’s vehicle after recognizing him as a person allegedly known to impersonate a police officer and attempt to conduct traffic stops. Responding officers arrived to assist and performed a traffic stop on Rawson’s vehicle.

During the confrontation, police claim Rawson pulled out a gun, prompting officers to open fire, fatally striking him. Officials stated that no law enforcement officers were injured in the exchange.

The incident remains under a pending investigation. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are reviewing the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Local outlets including FOX 25 Oklahoma City, News 9, Yukon Progress News, and KOCO News 5 reported that Rawson had been under investigation for impersonating an officer prior to the fatal encounter.
