Citrus County, FL. – Crystal Hix Jackson, 50, of Homosassa, has been identified as the mother of three who was killed while driving her children to school on Wednesday morning in Citrus County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
after an Ocala driver turned his dump truck in front of her vehicle, causing a fatal crash that also injured her three children.
The deadly collision happened at about 7:03 a.m. on March 12 along West Homosassa Trail in Citrus County.
FHP said a 34-year-old Ocala man driving a dump truck westbound on West Homosassa Trail when he attempted to make a left turn into 4816 West Homosassa Trail and entered into the path of a Dodge minivan being driven by Crystal Jackson.
The two vehicles collided and Jackson was killed in the incident.
Jackson was driving her three children, a 16-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old boy, to school at the time of the crash.
All three children were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
