Cary Canary was driving a 2016 Kia when he collided with a westbound 2016 Freightliner
La Porte, IN. – A man was killed in a collision involving a Freightliner on Thursday morning in Kankakee Township.
The fatal accident happened at the intersection of US Highway 20 and CR 300 at around 4:31 a.m., according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.
44-year-old Cary C. Canary was driving a 2016 Kia when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a westbound 2016 Freightliner driven by 39-year-old Roman Nichols of Fremont, Indiana.
Canary was pronounced dead at the scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
