Brett Wagner killed in collision on I-74 near milepost 215 in Vermilion County
Vermilion County, IL. – 56-year-old Brett Wagner was killed in a collision that happened on Wednesday evening in Vermilion County.
According to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on I-74 at milepost 215.
Three semi-trucks and an SUV were involved in the accident. Police say traffic was slowed due to a previous collision when the semi-truck rear-ended an SUV.
The impact of the collision pushed the SUV into the back of another semi-truck. The first semi went into the left lane and struck a third semi before coming to a stop in the median.
Wagner, a resident of Avon, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office.
