Boy, 13, Killed in Sebring Crash on US 27 near Lake Henry Drive

A 13-year-old boy who was a passenger of the Kia was taken to hospital where he later died

Sebring, FL. – A 13-year-old boy was killed in a car crash that left three other people injured on Tuesday night in Sebring.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:50 p.m. on US 27 near Lake Henry Drive.

Police reportedly attempted to stop a Kia Forte that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 27 when the driver failed to yield.

The speeding driver then collided with another car.

A 13-year-old boy who was a passenger of the Kia was taken to hospital where he later died.

A 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl inside the Kia were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Kia, an 18-year-old boy, was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. As per the report, the driver is awaiting criminal charges.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
