Reportedly, a Lake County sheriff’s deputy found Amber Knowles lying down at the scene after being struck by a vehicle.
Gurnee, IL – The coroner has identified the woman who was hit and killed by a truck while crossing the street in Gurnee Wednesday evening as 33-year-old Amber Knowles of Mundelein.
The deadly collision happened at about 8:04 p.m. on March near Delany Road and Sunset Avenue.
Reportedly, a Lake County sheriff’s deputy found Amber Knowles lying down at the scene after being struck by a vehicle.
Knowles was pronounced dead.
The involved vehicle left the scene of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.

Gurnee, IL. – A woman died after being hit by a car on Wednesday evening in Gurnee.
According to the Gurnee Police Department, the accident happened around 8 p.m. near Delany Road and Sunset Avenue.
The 33-year-old woman was walking in the area and was struck by a Ford E450 truck.
The woman died at the scene, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
