1 Killed, 2 Hurt in Accident on US 52 near County Road 500 E in Morristown

Authorities said one man was killed and two others were injured following a two vehicle accident Tuesday morning near US 52 and County Road 500 E in Morristown.

Morristown, IN.- One man was killed and two others were injured following a two vehicle accident Tuesday morning near Morristown.

The accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on August 11 near County Road 500 E and US 52.

According to preliminary information, a 2007 Pontiac passenger car was traveling south on County Road 500 E when its driver entered US 52 and attempted to turn east.

At the same time, a 2019 Ford F-150 was traveling west on US 52 when it struck the Pontiac.

The driver of the Pontiac, a 20 year old man from Rushville, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is expected to be released by the county coroner.

A 21 year old passenger in the Pontiac, also from Rushville, was critically injured and transported to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford, a 27 year old man from Rushville, was also injured and transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities have not released additional information about the conditions of the two injured men.

The accident remains under investigation.
