Police said a motorcyclist was killed following an accident involving an SUV Sunday night near Georgetown Road and Oakforge Drive in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis, IN.- A motorcyclist was killed following an accident Sunday night on the northwest side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on August 9 near Georgetown Road and Oakforge Drive.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Northbound Georgetown Road was expected to remain closed for an extended period while investigators processed the scene.
Drivers were advised to use alternate routes, including Guion Road.
The accident remains under investigation.
