Authorities said one person was injured following a three vehicle accident involving two Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicles early Thursday morning in Jacksonville.
Jacksonville, FL.- One person was injured following a three vehicle accident Thursday morning in Jacksonville.
The accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on July 30 at the intersection of Cassat Avenue and Edgewood Avenue South.
Investigators said a Volkswagen Jetta traveling northbound on Cassat Avenue attempted to turn left onto Edgewood Avenue South when it collided with a southbound Ford Explorer patrol vehicle.
The impact pushed the patrol SUV across Edgewood Avenue South, where it struck a second Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle.
The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta was transported to a local hospital with a possible ankle injury.
Authorities said the deputy driving the first patrol vehicle sustained non incapacitating injuries and was not transported.
The second deputy was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
